Fishy Fishy In the Pond

Last night we walked down to the neighborhood pond to caught some fish and feed the duckies. Jack caught 3 fish and of course we put them right back into the water. Em and I fed the ducks but as you can see she liked eating it.

My Girl

She sure is my girl! This picture was taken Friday night at Mayfaire. Our weekend went like this. Friday- picked up great sandwiches from Fresh Market and had a picnic at the Mayfaire concert. Saturday- Gamma, the kids, and I went to Wrightsville Beach and did a Beach clean-up. Jack found lots of trash- great job Jack. Then the whole gang, including the boys, headed to the Spot Festival where Jack had so much fun sliding down and jumping the on jump -things. Emma so wants to do everything her big brother does. Sunday- was beach all day, nap, Sunday dinner at my moms house, game of Hopscotch, and Rita's.

Movie Star!

Sunday at the Beach

We met up with Brodie, Dafne, and their parents at the beach on Sunday. We had a blast. Brodie and Jack are two peas and a pod. They have so much fun together. And when Emma took a nap, the boys played together, and the Michael and I got to sit in a chair and RELAX. It was awesome.

Bribing, Hair Cut, Batman

I have been wanting Jack to get his hair cut for a while now....Michael cuts Jack's hair. Jack always tell me no. So last night I did some bribing. Not always the best solution but I really wanted him to get his hair cut. I told him I would buy him any toy he wanted. He says, "BATMAN." As soon as his hair was done, off the Walmart we went. He ended up with a batman that came with a cool gun.

Not Too Bad For A Three Year Old

Last night while Michael was working late, the kids, my parents, and I went to Summerest Trail. It is a beautiful wooded trail that leads you to the Intercoastal Waterway. Anyway, Jack rode his bike for a 1.5 miles. Not too bad for a three year old! And Miss Emma clapped her hands enjoying the view while being pushed in the stroller.

Go See This Dentist

For all the local folks who read our blog. One of our very best friends opened his dental practice in Leland. If you live over there, you HAVE to check him out. He is right at the entrance of Magnolia Greens. If you live in Wilmington, he is worth the drive over the bridge. You will love having him work on your teeth. His website address is http://www.teethbythebeach.com/

Make sure you check out the pictures of Jack and Emma. On the homepage, click on Service. Then click on Children's Services.

Let me know if you set up a visit with him!

So Focused!

Two nights ago we took the kids to a Veggie Tale party a Chick-fila. Jack worked really hard on making a pirate hat. It turned out great. And yes those are pirate tattoos on his arm. He can not just have one tattoo... he must have several on each arm. Emma enjoyed chasing her brother around the play area.

Refrigerator = Thighs

These pictures make me laugh! How about you? Look at those thighs. Chunky Monkey. I love chubby babies. Jack was the same and has lost his baby fat so I know Emma will too.

My two babies

I say this all the time but I am going to say it again. It is such a gift to have a son and a daughter. They love each other so much and play so well with each other.

Mark and Deb

Uncle Mark and Deb came to my parents house for a visit. We went over there for a big dinner last night. My conversation with Jack went like this:
Mommy: Mark played football at the University of Pittsburgh. He was amazing.
Jack: Yeah, he ran the ball.
Mommy: That is right. He was a running back.
Jack: No one can catch him. He is fast.

Along with my Uncle Mark, we have a ton of great athletes in the family. I hope some athletic ability got passed down to our kids. But most importantly, I hope that are smart.

Jon Trenge

All you Lehigh wrestling fans out there... yes my son is Jon Trenge. If you have not seen it yet, buy the movie Veritas. Veritas is a feature-length film documenting Lehigh University’s 2004-2005 wrestling team and the story of Jon Trenge, who strives to achieve his childhood dream of becoming a National Wrestling Champion for his hometown school. Jon’s freshman season is cut short when doctors discover an eye condition so serious that he is told he should never wrestle again or risk losing his eyesight permanently. Jon refuses to accept his doctor’s warning and is determined to find a way to wrestle. After undergoing five eye surgeries, he wears homemade protective goggles designed by his father and nearly achieves his goal his sophomore and junior seasons losing in the National Finals.

Jon defeats a former National Champion to earn the most wins in Lehigh’s storied wrestling history, but many of his opponents intentionally attack his protective goggles injuring and frustrating him. Jon retaliates and gets disqualified from two matches. However, Jon overcomes this setback by using it as an opportunity to learn about himself and grow as a person. He returns to competition invigorated, and the pursuit of his childhood dream ultimately helps him become the man he wants to be.

Nap at the beach

Doesn't it feel so good to lay in the sand, listen to the crashing waves, and take a nap?

Super Dad!

Michael took today off (the day after our vacation) to spend with the kids. He is such an amazing father. Some dads are not that involved with their kids...not my Michael. He is a hands-on daddy. He has managed to play outside with Jack and pick up the fallen branches from the storm while Emma was napping. Get an oil change in my car, food shop, meet me for lunch, and go to the pool with kids. Super-Dad!

Cruise

Michael and I celebrated our 5th year wedding anniversary in style. We took a flight to South Beach, FL and stayed in this amazing oceanfront hotel. We walked the town seeing some very interesting people and ate at News Cafe. Thanks for the tip Emily Namey- we loved it! I was already so nervous about leaving the kids behind, but watching the news from our hotel room about Hanna coming to get Wilmington made me even more sad. Thankfully Wilmington just got some rain and wind. The kids had the best time with Gamma and Pop-Pop. Chuck-E- Cheese, trolley ride, park, swimming twice a day, and lots for hugs and kisses from the grandparents. I of course called home several times a day. OK back to Mike and I. We got on the ship Friday and enjoyed ourselves until we left on Monday. We swam, got lots of sun, drank, played ping-pong, saw every show, ate-ate-ate, toured Nassau and much more. We had a wonderful vacation. Happy Anniversary Honey! Many more to come!

Climbing Machine

Emma loves to climb anything, especially our stairs. She can make it the whole way to the top!
