My baby girl was born one year ago. Happy first birthday Emma Raye. Today is a very emotional day for me. I heard her standing up talking to herself in her crib this morning. I went into her room and sang Happy Birthday to her. She just smiled at me and probably thought her mommy is crazy. Jack, Daddy, and I put on our party hats, put a candle in a cinnamon bun and had a birthday breakfast. So far today has been a great day. My mom and dad are picking the kids up early from daycare to take them to the zoo, then to my house for a small family birthday party.
As I said, today is emotional for me. I am happy but also feel like I can cry at any moment. Michael and I are 97% sure we are not having anymore kids so it makes me sad that this is the last first birthday for us. Funny- with Jack we could not wait for the "first" anything. With Emma I think about the "last" time I will see her crawl, take a bottle.....
My little girl is amazing. I am truly grateful to have a boy and a girl. Emma is a very happy baby. Smiles and kicks her oh so chubby legs when she sees me. It is the best feeling in the world. We are so blessed to have two healthy babies. I love being Jack and Emma's mommy!!!
Steelers have a pre-season game tonight and of course both kids had to be dressed for it. Jack said to Emma this morning, " Emma you are a Steelers fan! You look beautiful! I love you!" Isn't he the best big brother? Pictures are from this morning at the Monkey Junction Chick-fila. The kids love playing there and they had free breakfast.
